I initially posted my last space scene as a one time deal. I have had some good feedback and I have decided to try and put up some more images in this category. Most of what I will be putting up here will be backdrops which I have designed for my various 3D scene renders. This little gem is going to be the backdrop for my next modeling project. I though someone else might like it as a desktop or something.

The image was done pretty much entirely in GIMP, however I had to run it through PSP X to get it into a workable BMP and JPG format. I am trying a few new techniques which I have picked up from some of the great online tutorials. I think this one came out rather well.

Please rate the images so I can tell if folks like them and I always encourage both positive feedback and critiques from others.

beautiful job! i love the colors, and the clouds look great

it kinda seems like the shadow on the planet in the front is a little too dark compared to the rest of the picture...unless thats what you're going for...and if that doesnt make sense you can just ignore this beacause i probably have no idea what im talking about

The Planet was supposed to be dark. It is a dry volcanic world with a very thick toxic atmosphere. I plan on doing a few more of these soon. Keep watching.
